Volunteer with The BELFAST Programme

Why Volunteer?
To improve your employability, to help people, to meet people, to have fun!

What can I do?

1. Teach
We are always looking for English language teachers. Volunteering with us could be for you if:
  • you have never taught before and want to know if it is for you
  • you are in the middle of a teaching course and want to chalk up more hours of teaching time
  • you have recently qualified as an ESOL teacher, and are looking for experience to help improve your job prospects abroad
  • you are an experienced teacher looking to get more experience, to widen your horizons and to improve your chances of getting a job.

2. Anything but teach!
We are looking for Volunteers from all walks of life, so even if you have no interest in teaching we can find a place for you on our team, whatever your particular skill or interest. We need Volunteers to help with IT, marketing, administration, book keeping, fundraising, art, tourism, project management and more!

I don’t know if I can be available at the same time every week, can I still volunteer?
Of course! Our Volunteers work as a team, support each other and come when they can. Their input and help, however big or small, is always enormously appreciated.

What's in it for me?
Apart from the chance to make a huge impact in peoples’ lives, and that warm glowy feeling that comes from helping people, volunteering with us can improve your own employability, and help you move on to a new or better job. Also, it’s fun.

OK, I'm convinced, how do I sign up?
It’s easy. Just contact Arthur McKeown, our head of volunteering (and everything else) on the xxxxxxx
, and he will introduce you to the world of The BELFAST Programme.  Or, you can use our xxxxx  and someone will get back to you shortly.
